1921 photograph of the tragic 1921 Derby winner HUMORIST, owned by Joel. Humorist The thoroughbred racehorse. He finished third in the 1921 , 2000 Guineas before winning the Epsom Derby. Tragically less than three weeks after winning the Derby, the horse died in his stable from a lung haemorrhage . The chestnut stallion was bred and owned by Jack Barnato Joel and trained by Charles Morton at Letcombe Bassett,Berkshire. He also won the Woodcote Stakes in 1920.
