'The Deposition from the Cross', c1268. Two figures hold the body of Christ as a third removes the nails from the feet to free it fully from he cross. In the foreground the Virgin Mary and St John the Apostle mourn. After an Armenian Evangelistary, a book containing parts of the Christian Gospels which was used during the liturgy.
