Death of Cain depicted in the Romanesque capital dated from the 12th century from the Autun Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Lazare d'Autun), now on display in the chapter library of the Autun Cathedral in Autun, Burgundy, France. According the Book of Genesis, Cain wearing animal skins was killed by Lamech accidentally with an arrow because his son Tubalcain who helped him to steer to the target thought from a distance it was an animal. The capital was probably carved by French Romanesque sculptor Gislebertus.
