Rua da Alegria, Lisbon, Portugal. Graffiti, Logos, Tags and what is referred to as street art on the covered windows on the front section of a residential building at 38 Rua da Alegria. The narrow hilly street is between Principe Real district and the upscale Avenida da Liberdade in the Baixi area in central Lisbon. With the city’s numerous organized street art tours many believe Lisbon to be among the world’s major street art destinations. Street art has a long history in the city dating back to the earthquake in 1755 and the rebuilding of the devastated city, when wealthy houses and streets included colored walls and tiles facing the street.
