Time and the elements have weathered wood beams at the Hillsboro Inlet Jetty into a feathery texture.

Wind, rain and sun have weathered the decking of the Hillsboro Inlet jetty as seen by this rusted steel bolt and feathery textured wood. The wood beams overlay the jetty rocks on the south side of the inlet across from the lighthouse providing a sort of rip rap for the inlet edges. They are held together by concrete and these old steel is a popular site for people to wander along on to enjoy the view of the lighthouse or fish from. It is a bit like walking on a balance beam though taking images of the colorfully rusty bolts.
