But it has a growing domestic terror problem from both organised crime gangs and Dissident Republican Groups such as the Real IRA, with the possibility of the latter group planning terror attacks in Northern Ireland or on the British mainland. To counter this the Irish police have announced they are expanding anti terror reaction police units to 10 areas outside Dublin. As part of that plan they carried out an anti Terror Training Exercise in Dublin City Centre. Simulated Terror Attack Dublin. Devastation in a railway station in Dublin as bodies lie all over the place, as two men, one with a knife and the other with a gun, take hostages and are confronted by members of the Garda (Police) Armed Support Units and the Emergency Response Unit, during a simulated terror attack in Dublin City in which two men take hostages after a botched getaway in which they knock down a cyclist and take refuge in a nearby commuter rail station.
