These rear-engine park nose-down due to the tail-heavy configuration without the weight of the pilot up front. They are a high performance aircraft with an excellent safety record. Typically, these aircraft are hand built from plans and instructions by their pilots. In most countries, including the United States, the aviation authority will issue an airworthiness certificate indicating they are safe and legal to fly.
