Recycling and waste collection point by the harbour side for yachts on Tilos island, near Rhodes.

Tackling climate change - Tilos is already largely self-sufficient for its energy and has now embraced the concept of zero waste to add to its green credentials. May 10th, 2022 was the official inauguration of the program "Just go Zero" and the idea to make Tilos an island with zero waste. The company Polygreen chose Tilos for this innovative program. Tilos is also introducing electric vehicles and charging points, including scooters, cars, bicycles and a new electric bus. Solar powered street lights are also new for this year (2022). Tilos has already been in the news for the banning of hunting and the creation of protected areas for wildlife (Natura 2000). Founder and CEO of Polygreen recycling company is Athanasios Polychronopoulos
