Hippo in panicum grass, Hippopotamus amphibius

A big bull hippo grazes on aquatic panicum grasses during the heat of the day. This takes advantage of high quality nutrition whilst avoiding overheating during the middle of the day. Most of the feeding is done during the nightime and the hippo may have to wander miles each night to find enouth grass to sustain his massive bulk.
