Orb weaver spider (Araneus quadratus) spinning its web. The spinnerets are at upper centre, with the legs being used to manipulate the strands. A. quadratus lives in low vegetation where it builds webs of up to 40 centimetres in diameter. The females are larger than the males. This spider is widespread and common throughout Europe.
