The Circle is a common theme in prehistoric art and the style of circles found in Nyero suggest a link to a similar style used in NE Congo to represent the sun and the moon and are incorporated into rain making ceremonies The caves at Nyero were used by the Iteso for such ceremonies for hundreds of years
