Men get breast cancer too! Six men who have had breast cancer met to chat over their experiences and share their stories with representatives of the charity including Founder and Chief Executive Nina Barough CBE. Each year, around 350 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK and 80 men die. A survey carried out by Walk the Walk shows that 54% of men, though aware that men can get breast cancer, have never checked themselves for symptoms of the disease. Walk the Walk hope that by highlighting breast cancer in men that more men will check themselves for symptoms, reducing the numbers dying each year. Walk the Walk are organisers of the annual MoonWalk London, an overnight charity walking marathon where participants wear brightly decorated bras.
