An Italian hand-and-a-half sword, circa 1560 Broad, double-edged, older blade of diamond section, dating from the second half of the 15th century. Ornamental punch marks (rubbed) and smith's mark in the shape of a sword stamped into both sides of the base. Lightly curved iron quillons with stud-shaped spherical finials, guard plate decorated with multiple perforations, thumb ring on the back.
