One of the horses which draws a boat on the canal in Llangollen waiting for the boat to go under a bridge

The horsedrawn boats at Llangollen travel along the section of the canal leading to the Chain Bridge Hotel and the Horseshoe Falls which is too shallow for narrowboats. Narrowboats therefore have to turn round, wind, in the basin next to Llangollen Wharf. The no entry sign is to warn narrowboats that they should travel no further. The Horseshoe Falls on the river Dee supplies the water for the Llangollen canal and then, in turn, for the drinking water supply of Crewe and Nantwich in Cheshire.
