"EAST MOLESEY CRICKET CLUB THIS IS HISTORIC GROUND On the meadow of which this ground formed a part, a cricket match was played on Saturday 7th June 1735, between Surrey XI selected by the Prince of Wales & a London XI. Surrey Ever since that date right through two centuries of time, cricket has been played on Moulsey Hur6st. Thanks to the sportsmanship of Mr. C. W. Kent & the British Public this ground has been dedicated for all time to the glorious game of Cricket."
