Hermitage of Santa Fe in Santa Fe del Montseny region of Valles Oriental province of Barcelona,Catalonia,Spain

Santa Fe is a hermitage in the town of Santa Fe del Montseny (Vallès Oriental) listed in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. The chapel of Santa Fe del Montseny is the historic center of the valley and the one that has given it its name. This is documented in 1231. In 1270 a group of hermits lived who were called the order of hermits of Santa Fe, but this did not last long, since from the fourteenth century onwards the chapel was found in the care of a single hermit, dependent on the parish priest of Fogars de Montclús. The primitive chapel was enlarged in 1577 and was renovated at the beginning of the 18th century (1701). Religious building with a single nave and a belfry with a single hole; it is slightly off-center with respect to the door. Under the bell tower there are remains of a sundial. This element is very common in the churches of Montseny.
