Libani in this respect hasnot been apparent to many. But, as a lovely tree,atlantica deserves all praise, especially the variety knownas glauca. It forms a large tree of the outline of abroad pyramid, with light, silvery foliage. There is nowoffered in European lists a golden-leaved variety, aureait is called. One may well imagine how handsome sucha Cedar would be. Its addition to our present list ofCedrus species would be welcomed. Seeds are relied on to increase stock, and graftingfor varieties. The Winter season is considered the best for propa-gating Yews from cuttings. Make proper lengths of lastseasons shoots and place them in sand, in gentle heat,in the greenhouse. They should be rooted by Spring. The term Cedar is used as the com-mon name of several evergreens, butit is properly applied only to theCedrus species, such a
