The scene has a pyramidal structure: at the top of a staircase in his palace of Iolkos, figure of King Pelias accompanied by his daughters; on the right next to a table, Jason stands enveloped in a cloack and with one foot bare, as the myth recounts; on the left an assistant, garlanded like the other characters, leads the bull to be sacrificed to Poseidon.
