Unidentified liparids were obtained at two stations in the Magellan Strait, outside the area of the trawling surveys. BOTHIDAE Thysanopsetta naresi Gunther. This small flatfish, resembling the 'scald-fish', Arnoglossus laterna (Walbaum), of British seas, was the only member of the family at all numerous m catches obtamed during the trawling surveys.
