A steel box girder bridge spanning the Thames with two lines going through it and a steel superstructure

A very heavy duty fabricated steel girder bridge spanning the Thanes River at Appleford in Oxfordshire and carrying two very busy lines From Didcot through to Oxford and until recently carried many coal wagons for Didcot power station (now closed) still carrying large number of passenger trains and many freight trains en route to and from Southampton docks, both lines are 85 MPH line speed at this point and this bridge has to take a lot of very heavy traffic throughout the day and night, recently repainted as part of the new line upgrade and should be good for many a year to come. Crossing the River Thames on a hig embankment keeps the bridge and tracks safe from flooding.
