Ribbed pine borer beetle (Rhagium inquisitor) in a chamber made from rotten pine wood (Pinus sylvestris). This insect is a type of longhorn beetle, which lays its eggs in rotting bark. The adult beetle will undergo a complete metamorphosis; embryo, larva, pupa and imago and do not leave the tree throughout the process. Photographed in Narke, Sweden.
