Region de Murcia International Airport, Corvera, Spain. 16th January 2020. Due to the fire at Alicante airport on the previous day many European flights are being diverted to the relatively new and normally quiet airport of Corvera near Murcia in south east Spain. A number of UK easyJet & Ryanair arrivals and departures operated from Corvera, with further flights being cancelled causing a great deal of disruption to passengers. Airlines are asking passengers to make their own 96km journey from Alicante to fly from Murcia for the diversions
