Leaves short-petioled,ovate to lanceolate, acuminate at the apex, mostlynarrowed at the base, but sometimes subcordate,glabrous on both sides when mature, usually in-cised-dentate, 2-10 long; flowers 4-5 long, inelongated narrow thyrses; bractlets mostly alter-nate; calyx-lobes ovate, obtuse, or acute; corollacontracted at the throat, green to purple andshining without, dull within, the two lateral lobeserect; lobes of the upper lip often narrowlyoblong; sterile stamen greenish yellow; capsuleovoid-conic.
