Provenance: "Gentleman's Magazine and Historical Chronicle", by Sylvanus Urban, Gent. London: Printed at St. John's Gate for D. Henry; and sold by F. Newbery, the corner of St Paul's Churchyard, Ludgate Street . Type: Antique copperplate map. The map was printed to illustrate the progress of the British Army during the early part of the New York and New Jersey Campaign of the American Revolutionary War in 1776, which resulted in the British capture of New York City, which they held until the end of the war in 1783, and Long Island.
