Part of the central square of Makrinitsa village, Pelion mountain, Magnisia, Greece

Part of the central square of the beautiful village of Makrinitsa in Pelion, where you can see the old church of Saint John (Agios Yiannis Prodromos) and a beautiful ful fountain, built in 1809. The locals call it "The lions" because of some sculptured lions' heads from where the water comes out, or "Immortal Water". There are two explanations for this "immortal" thing. The first one, says that the name comes from the fact that water never stops flowing in this fountain. The second, that in the old days, there was a legend saying that anyone who drunk water from this fountain would become immortal.
