Shot of an empty classroom at Lewisham Bridge primary School showing project work about the Victorians Lewisham Bridge Primary School has a nursery and reception where children begin school as young as 3 years old. They start Key stage 2 as Juniors, in year 3 when they are 7 or 8 years old. They go on to year 6 where they are prepared for the SATs tests. Lewisham council plan to demolish this Victorian school and replace it with a new school for 3-16 year olds. Meaning that two new school, both upper and lower will be built on the same footprint as Lewisham Bridge now occupies. The Shool currently enjoys a large well designed play area which will be lost if the new schools are built. In addition it will be run by a private company called The Leathersellers' Company who already run two secondary school in Lewisham.
