Red roofs in Gammel Skagen. Denmark.

Gammel Skagen (English: Old Skagen), is a village a few kilometers to the west of Skagen at the Skagerak west coast. It is supposed that the nearby town, which later became Skagen, first was founded here and as an actual harbor was needed, the new Skagen was established at the more friendly Kattegat east coast. All houses in Gammel Skagen has red tile roofs and many has a white band around the edges of the roof. The main activities are related to tourism.
