Red-leaved Rose or Redleaf Rose (Rosa glauca syn. R. rubrifolia) is a species of rose native to the mountains of southern and central Europe (Poland, Germany, Spanish Pyrenees and Bulgaria). Attractive greyish-purple leaves covered with a waxy bloom on arching slightly thorny deep purple stems. The foliage to be the best ornamental feature. Tiny slightly fragrant five-petaled flowers. An abundant orange-red hips ripen in autumn and persist well into winter. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
