W. J. McLellan, son of E. W. McLcl- lan, is receiving congratulations on be- ing the father of a fine baby boy. This is tlie first grandchild on both sides of the house and what added to the general delight of the family was the fact that no one was told the stork was exi>ected till the advent of the baby was an- nounced. F. C. Jaeger stated emjihatically that the railroad strike has not in any way affected the express car situation. "Flowers arc going through without any interruption and our customers say that tlie goods are arriving in splendid condition," declared Mr. Jaeger. In addition to the wholesale shipjung busi- ness, the firm of Jaeger lias been busy in the retail store with funeral and other work. Frank D. Pelicano, of Pelicano, Rossi & Co., is cutting some fine at his farm, and these are being used with artistic and striking results in decora- tive work. Theodore liell, one of the best known men in California political life, was killed a few days ago in an automobile accident, lljs funeral, at St. Helena, was the occasion for a great outpouring of flowers. Pelicano, Rossi & Co. sent five men with two trucks laden with floral offerings, and the people of St. Helena almost gave them the freedom of the town, so
