Lothian’s Bus 2020 strategy sees it committing to operating only buses which meet a minimum vehicle standard of Euro 5 or above by the end of 2020. Central to its strategy is the vision to meet the 42% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions target set by the Scottish Government. The 2020 Vehicle Plan sets out the investment required for the purchase and disposal of vehicles in order to achieve this. The George Street event will focus around how one bus load of customers could potentially remove over 100 cars from our roads. To help us with this, Lothian have invited over 100 cars to the event to give a visual comparison of how many people could travel in one of its new Alexander Dennis Enviro400XLB buses compared to if they travelled independently by car.
