Reindeer in a herd during the autumn round up Kuorpak nr Jokkmokk Lapland Sweden

The reindeer are beautiful, if rather timid animals. Every autumn tens of thousands of reindeer are rounded up by Lapland's Sami people, firstly to select out animals to be slaughtered for meat, and then to start the migration to lower, winter pastures. As part of the process the animals are herded into corrals.
