The Burning of Bishop Hooper (c1495-1555) at Gloucester, 9th February 1555. From John Foxe's 'Book of Martyrs' or 'Actes and Monuments', 1570. Hooper was an Anglican Bishop of both Gloucester and Worcester. He was an advocate of the English Reformation and was martyred during the Marian Persecutions.
