Crimson and yellow flowered Wallich's astrapaea, Astrapaea wallichii. Hand-colored illustration by Edwin Dalton Smith engraved by Smith from Charles McIntosh's "Flora and Pomona" 1829. McIntosh (1794-1864) was a Scottish gardener to European aristocracy and royalty, and author of many book on gardening. Smith was a botanical artist who drew for Robert Sweet, Benjamin Maund, etc.
