Five body lice (Pediculus humanus corporis), dorsal view. On the left are three immature lice, called nymphs, at different stages of development. On the right are full-grown adult male and female lice. Lice feed on human skin and blood, and infest people world-wide. They are normally only found on people with poor hygiene, or who have no access to clean bedding and clothing. Body lice are vectors for several diseases such as louse-borne relapsing fever, typhus, and vagabond's disease.
