Thesewomen were drawing water in urn-like vessels whichwere carried on their heads in a manner similar to thatused by the women of Samaria, as seen in illustrationsof old Biblical times. One of the shrines, worshippedby these devoted Catholics, is located on the top of avery high hill, and is called the Shrine of the Lady ofGuadalupe.
