Where the cyst is VAGINAL CYSTS. 325 situated in the vaginal fornix the walls are liable to be considerably thickeras the duct lies more deeply imbedded in the tissue. The cyst walls proper are composed of fibrous tissue; sometimes inter-mingled with these are bundles of non-striped muscle fiber. These were dem-onstrated in two of our cases. Mag-nified 36 times. to make it out, but in those of large size, the muscle is so spread out thatsections from various portions of the wall often fail to reveal it, although atother points it may be present. The inner surface of the cyst is lined withone layer of cylindrical, cuboidal, or almost flat epithelium (see Figs. 197and 198). Vaginal Cysts Arising from Urethral Glands.—If vaginal cystsever owe their origin to urethral glands, such a condition is of very rare occur-rence. The possibility, however, can not be
