Fears are being expressed that the humble Bumble Bee is heading for extinction. The value of the role of Bumble Bees in pollinating plants cannot be too highly stressed. Blame for the demise of the Bumbles is being placed at the destruction of their natural habitat by intensive farming methods - but some experts are also pointing at the disruption of seasons caused by global warming.
