Cowpea chlorotic mottle virus (CCMV, Family Bromoviridae, RNA virus), transmission electron micrograph (TEM). CCMV specifically infects the cowpea plant, or black-eyed pea. The leaves of infected plants develop yellow spots, thus the name 'chlorotic'. Magnification: x42,900 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
