First Step Trust (FST) is an award winning charity with over 30 years’ experience in providing work experience, on the job training and salaried employment for people excluded from working life because of mental health problems and other disadvantages Dyslexia, ADHD or a fear of learning. Many of the people we work with are long term unemployed (10 years +) and some have never worked. FST is developing new ways to help this group overcome some of the barriers to learning using a range of technologies and other learning tools. SMaRT Garage services is First Step Trust’s social enterprise garage in Woolwich SE18. The garage provides opportunities for you to get involved in all aspects of the trade including, servicing vehicles, changing tyres, using diagnostic equipment and a range of other specialist tools. In addition to being involved in on-the-job-learning you will get the opportunity to learn and develop your skills using Virtual Reality programmes and equipment. You can also: Enrol in our 10 module programme and start your training to become a motor vehicle mechanic Get involved in helping out with garage reception, customer service, ordering parts and other administrative tasks. SMaRT Garage Services in Woolwich is an award winning social enterprise run by the charity First Step Trust. As well as providing a competitive, high quality service to our customers, we provide training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged members of our community to support them back into work.
