One of the stones in the Millennium Stone Circle at Gatton Park - SEE DETAILS IN DESCRIPTION.

The stone circle was commissioned from the artist Richard Kindersley to commemorate the millennium. There are 10 stones, cut from Caithness stone and arranged in a circle. Each stone represents 200 years and contains a representative inscription. The inscription on the stone shown (legible in photograph) is cut in a spiral and reads: 'For I do not seek to understand in order to believe, but I believe in order to understand. For I believe this; unless I believe, I will not understand.' It is from Chapter I of the Proslogion of St Anselm, written in the 11th century.
