"THE COLUMBIA WETLANDS Stretching 108 km from Canal Flats to Donald, these wetlands are the longest continuous undeveloped wetlands in North America. Unique for their beauty and wildlife values, the Columbia Wetlands were designated as a protected Wildlife Management Area by the Government of British Columbia in 1996. IAN DAVID JACK 1936-1996 Greatly respected for his long service as Chief Naturalist of Kootenay National Park, Ian Jack devoted his life to conservation, wildlife, and land-use issues. It is largely through his efforts that the wetlands you see below remain in their natural state for the use and benefit of future generations. "VALUES, MT FRIENDS!
