View NW of Cnocan nan Gobhar (Hill of the Goats) Neolithic cairn in a wood above the NE bank of the Abhuinn Cille Mhaire, Kilmarie, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK. The cairn (once thought to be long cairn but more likely a large round cairn) has been robbed to a rough oval shape aligned NW-SE. In 1926 a secondary cist inserted during the Bronze Age was found near the top of the mound; it contained a Beaker pot & burnt human bones. A local story tells how a 'skeleton' was removed from the cist & kept in the village, but was thrown in the sea after haunting the villagers.
