Fuller's Teasel, dipsacus sativus


Fuller's teasel has stiff hooked bracts that were once used for raising the nap of woolen cloth - "fulling". It was / is grown as a crop for this purpose in Somerset. The dried seedhead here is ready for use in fulling.
