Ornithology: Breeding and Nests: The nest of the Cape Titmouse (parus carpensis) is a native of the Cape of Good Hope. It constructs a luxurious nest of the down of a species of asclepias (milk weed) with a small tube about an inch in length and width with an orifice at the upper end. Immediately under the tube is a small pocket into which the male fits at night, thereby screening it from the weather.
