Carlos Gardel was a singer, songwriter and actor, was naturalized Argentine. He was the most important in the history of tango as to global fame, number of records sold (as a singer and composer), films seen worldwide, influence and impact globally until today. It is uncertain whether born in Tacuarembó (Uruguay) and Toulouse (France), although there is no doubt that he lived in Buenos Aires since 1893. Was nationalized in 1923 as an Argentine citizen.
