Pacific Tree Frog or Pacific Chorus Frog (Pseudacris regilla) resting in a pond covered with Duckweed (Lemna minor) in Issaquah, Washington, USA. The Pacific Chorus Frog can be distinguished from all other frogs within its geographic range by two characteristics: 1) the presence of toepads, and 2) a dark stripe that extends from just before the nostril, through the eye, and past the tympanum (ear). Common duckweed is a rapidly spreading aquatic plant that deprives ponds of oxygen and leads to the death of fish and beneficial algae in still waters.
