An old printed image (the earliest known) of J M Barrie's birthplace and home at 9 Brechin Road in the weaving town of Kirriemuir ( his fictional Thrums), Forfarshire, Scotland - Sir James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet (1860-1937), was a writer, dramatist and story teller who is best known for his novel of Peter Pan, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up (inspired by the death of his young brother). Before his death, he gave the rights and royalties from all Peter Pan works to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. It continues to benefit from them today.
