A Reticulated Giraffe in the Samburu National Reserve, Kenya

A young Reticulated Giraffe in the Samburu National Reserve in the Northern Frontier District of Kenya. The Reticulated Giraffe is slightly smaller than its southern cousin, the Masai Giraffe. Less dependent on water, the Reticulated Giraffe is found in dry acacia woodlands and desert grass bush, north of the Tana River. It has a beautiful brick shaped, liver red coat demarcated by thin white lines.
