Waltrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - Ship lift and lock park Waltrop. Here the decommissioned Old Shaft Lock. The Waltrop Lock Park is the name given to the four descent structures at the junction of the Rhine-Herne Canal (rear) and the Dortmund-Ems Canal (front). The only lift in operation is the New Lock, built between the Old Shaft Lock and the New Lift in 1989.
