After the closure of the old Hoesch blast furnace plant in 1998, the site was redeveloped into the Phoenixpark industrial and recreational area. Today, the old blast furnace plant stands at the center as an impressive industrial monument, framed by the large Hoesch Gasometer and the Phoenixhalle. In front, Air Liquid and WILO businesses on the B54 highway.
